About Me

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Indiana. I obtained my Masters degree from Ball State University in 2013 and became licensed in the state of Indiana in 2016. After graduating, I worked at various community mental health providers in the general Indianapolis area. Over the next several years, I will be transitioning to my own private practice. I specialize in young adults and upwards (18+) on an individual basis. And I am so excited to have you with me on this journey.

Professional Values

I recognize the importance of the therapeutic relationship and strive to help you create one based on compassion, dignity, and respect. In recognition of the diverse clientele I serve, I do my best to provide culturally competent counseling and support to those who entrust me with their mental wellness. I also value the intersectional identities that each person brings into the session. I follow the American Counseling Association’s (ACA) code of ethics.

My Mission

As a counselor, I believe that everyone comes to me doing the best they can with the tools and resources available from their own unique life journey. It is my mission to work together to enhance those skills and resources as healthfully as possible; and to build healthier alternatives that fit your lifestyle where you are at.

My Style

You should be comfortable with your counselor. I provide an authentic, casual, and conversational experience to assist you in your journey for mental wellness. I also value the whole body, whole health approach to therapy. How we fuel and move our body impacts our mental health and vice versa. We can work together where you are now to develop holistic strategies to improve your wellbeing. I strive to be collaborative while balancing the need to challenge unhelpful behaviors and thinking patterns. Metaphors from books and video games happen often in my therapeutic style. It is my job to ensure a professional boundary is maintained. I recognize that I am also a human in the “tele space” with another human. I am LGBTQ+ affirming. I strive to be educated on racial injustice and systemic issues to best assist my clients in navigating their life experiences with the goal of being anti-racist.

You will pick up on some of the unique things that make me, well, me. I pursue lifelong learning, spending time with my spouse and two cats, and I’m funny. Sometimes. When I am able to, I love exploring Indiana’s state and national parks as well as doing the same in other states. I’m also a bit of a nerd and I enjoy reading and playing video games.
